Free Speech Violation #136: Man Fired for Calling Female Boss 'a Miserable C***'

The following news bulletin was posted on the website for the group First Amendmenters for Free Speech and Justice (FAFSJ), an organization devoted to the protection of free speech. This group was formed in response to the recent controversy involving Phil Robertson, star of the reality show Duck Dynasty who was briefly fired following homophobic and racist comments he made in a GQ interview. The group define the right to free speech as “the right to express your personal beliefs in a public forum without risk of negative consequences or criticism.” Their website attempts to bring attention to what they term “free speech violations” by cataloging them. This is the latest item in that catalog.

It’s happened again. We shouldn’t be surprised, what with the way the lamestream media and even its teabagger counterparts run around trampling on people’s basic human rights, but this story is especially bad.

Turns out, a hardworking, loyal American male, Tony Young, who was on the fast track at his financial firm was fired this past week. Why? Just for calling his female boss “a miserable c***” to her face during the office Christmas party.

Already sounds pretty bad, doesn’t it? It gets worse, though. Young is a member of an ultra-orthodox, evangelical branch of Christianity that supports a new translation of the Bible in which all females not carrying out their traditional, respectful gender roles are referred to as “miserable c****.” In this translation, for example, Eve is referred to simply as “a woman” until she convinces Adam to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, at which point God says unto them: “I will put enmity between you and the miserable c***.” (Genesis 3.15)

So, Young’s use of the phrase “miserable c***” was just a manner of expressing his religious beliefs, given that his boss, a female, was in the workplace and not the home. He was practically quoting the Bible, for goodness sake!

But now Young, a husband and father of three, is left without a way to support his family JUST for exercising his right to free speech. And, of course, the lamestream media got hold of the story and spun it, calling Young “disrespectful,” “unprofessional,” “sexist,” and even “disgusting.” Unbiased journalism at its finest, folks!

This is a tragedy of the highest order. Young’s professional name is now ruined, so he can’t find work. His wife, also a member of his church, can’t work without risk of becoming a miserable c*** herself. The family is ruined and running out of money fast.

All of this in a so-called “free” society. If it were free, a man could practice his religion safely, at an office Christmas party, no less. But no. We’ve come to a point in which one man’s expression of his most closely held and deeply cherished beliefs is the cause of his ruin, just because they run contrary to what’s considered the “norm” in this country. Welcome to the United States of Fascism, my friends.
