THE GABBLER

Today at a press conference held at his Little Silver, New Jersey home, former Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice, who was recently fired after ESPN aired a video of him verbally and physically abusing players, announced that he has signed a $2 million book deal with Random House.

The book, which has the working title Don’t Be a Pussy: How to Use Intimidation to Get Rich Fast, will be “a combination of self-help, personal finance, and memoir,” according to Rice.

“I just got paid over $1 million to STOP working. That kind of knowledge needs to be shared with the universe,” Rice said, when asked what the inspiration behind his new book was.

Rice also responded to inquiries about the scandal that resulted in his termination from Rutgers University.

“Listen, to all the faggots and pussies who are whining about ‘bullying’ and ‘homophobia’ and the ‘inherent vulnerability of young student athletes with scholarships’ this is the NCAA. This is trial by fire and brimstone and basketballs whizzing toward your face when your lay-up sucks. It’s not for the faint of heart.”

The press conference ended abruptly, however, when Rice, in response to further questions about the psychological effect of his abuse on young players, pulled out several basketballs and began throwing them at reporters while angrily screaming “YOU STUPID FAGGOTS!!!”
